No one has issues with a Nickelodeon fighting game but apparently TFH is a bridge too far for some reason. Which is a sentiment I see *a lot* around TFH and I find it pretty exhausting. If your response to seeing TFH is "eeeClick to shrink.Apologies, but I thought it was pretty clear from my post that I was specifically referring to people who refuse to give TFH the time of day because they think the style means its for "babies," or that anyone who likes the MLP aesthetic is a pathetic loser or whatever. The challenges in single player are actually designed to help you learn core game mechanics in an accessible way and I'm very glad to see SF6's story mode is going in a similar direction. The combo system is easy to learn and hard to master, the roster covers a wide variety of play styles despite being small, the tutorials are pleasantly detailed and easy to understand, and it has maybe the best designed single player mode in a fighting game in the past few years. TFH is criminally underrated and incredibly well made for such a small team. ![]() So yeah, definitely give it a whirl if you're curious! It's managed to pull me in for a couple matches so far against randoms which is far more than other games in this genre! The most exciting thing about this going free on Epic today means those crossplay servers should get a nice bump-the handful of times I've been online through Xbox there's been <100 folk in the lobbies, just checking now there's about 400 and I'm sure that will increase as the day goes on. The multiplayer takes that top-down exploration and brings it online with stages you explore and fight for loot and currencies, there is even a PvE hunting mode that becomes PvP as one player gets to transform into a boss monster and hunts other players down. It's quite engaging from the bit I've been able to play so far. Even the gameplay is more than just combat since you can engage with platforming challenges in some areas. Them's Fightin' Herds has a pretty charming campaign which styles itself more like a SNES RPG (top down exploration, NPCs, towns) where you can hunt for secrets and such. I've tried other titles but many are lacking good solo content and I fall off pretty fast. ![]() I picked this up on a whim when the physical console versions released a couple months back and have had a pretty great time with it so far! As a bit of background I have played a handful of fighting games casually like Soulcalibur and Mortal Kombat but I typically stick to solo or local play if friends are over. I know there's a dedicated thread for the Epic deals/free games this holiday, but I wanted to give this one a standalone shoutout.
