I bought Premiere elements with it but I don't use it so have never set it up. I don't rent any software so the only Adobe editing program I run is PSE 2019, which is legit. Here is not the place to go into those explanations (and I do not know those that work exactly and I will not experiment on your behalf as I am a full legitimate user of CC so I at least have that Adobe app always running anyways). It is all Adobe anti-piracy software, so they have by design not made it is easy to switch it off.įull removal is a more complex process involving deletion of folders and possible registry changes. Adobe GC Invoker Utility likely there in your startup apps might be something also to look at. I think there is another service/mechanism (likely also in any Adobe apps you run) that will eventually restart them. I am of the school of thought that the computer that runs the fewest programs, runs the best. I just don't like the idea of unnecessary services running 100% of the time constantly using system resources to check for updates continuously as though the developer thinks I bought my computer just for his one program. I think they run update checks when you manually start these programs anyway, whether the service is running or not. They're not updating Acrobat Pro 9 any more anyway. I keep a good daily automated system backup of user data and a monthly drive image so whatever happens, I think I can recover quite easily. You're probably right about that but I want to test this out anyway. If you are not going to keep it updated, you should uninstall it and use a different reader. What I can tell you for a fact is that Adobe Reader gets updated a lot because crooks are always looking for a way in through it. I guess we'll know what happens that matters to the user, eventually. I also turned off and disabled Adobe Genuine Monitor Service and Adobe Genuine Software Integrity Service and restarted the computer. They aren't updating that any more anyway and I have "check for updates" disabled in it anyway. To do this, you need to download and run “Adobe Uninstaller”.I just now turned off and disabled Adobe acrobat Update Service. You may also uninstall Flash on your Mac. If there is an update available, click Yes to download and install. Simply again, open the Flash Player Updates section, and click “Check Now”. Since now autonomic update notifications are disabled, you may want to check periodically whether you really need to update Adobe Flash. Enter your password and click Install Helper. You may have to enter you Admin password. Selecting the third option will open a popup saying: “System Preferences is trying to install a new helper tool”.You may also select the first option, which will update automatically without any prior notification.
